Practical skills

For this observation , I only wanted to observe a specific area. The area I wanted to draw was the lower face , I did this because my favourite feature is my mouth and nose . I only partially drew the face only because I wanted a quick thumbnail.
For this portrait , I wanted to replicate my chosen artist art style . In order to demonstrate the artistic influence , I wanted to replicate the artists work . Especially with the line work. For this responce , I drew her piece, . I didn't struggle with this piece because half of it is line work . Although there is a lot of details , I thought it was very fun to draw .
For the drawing to be exact , I traced the outline of the illustration, this was tedious because of the amount of detail . I then proceeded to do the tone . This was my favourite step , this took me forty five minutes . After this I darkened the outline of the drawing.

I did this piece during half term to keep me occupied. I included this in my experimental work because I believe that it evokes the theme of introspection . The symbolic eyes represent truth and authenticity which represents the conscience . The hands are covering the eyes , because the eyes are a window into the soul. By the person hiding their eyes, means that they are not allowing you to see into there soul and spirit . I think this would elevate my work because it is another great demonstration of introspection.

This experimental piece was created with black dye. I wanted to explore other mediums to strengthen my creative ability . I had quite a lot of fun with this technique , as it allowed me to be creatively wild and not as in control. Which was a little bit of a struggle seeing as I'm so detail oriented . I wanted to create a face with the dye ( or as close to a face ) but seeing as this medium is so unrestrictive it kind of merged into something else . I actually like that effect, as it allows the audience to interpret it how they would want to .
I drew this tonal drawing in the half term . I was very difficult and time consuming. But it has supported my observational drawing skills . It also helped with drawing braids which is very tedious but I think look nice

This skull was initially supposed to be added to my final piece t add another layer to it . But I seemed out of place and unnecessary, so I took it out . It was a nice drawing so I included it into my experimental work . Drawing this skull really extended my detail skills which helped.
This observation drawing was used with acrylic . I really enjoyed how freely this mediums is . Creating this piece was pure fun because I am not restricted by any details but just loosely painting . But to add a bit of depth to it ,I added random drips to it just to see what it would look like. I think the final outcome resembles my face a bit.

I drew this with a fine liner . I wanted to experiment with simpler drawings . I like it but I doesn't’t have the same effect of realism
Lino printing
This self portrait was curated from a lino print . I made this print for my the protest unit. this was a great way to explore self reflection with different mediums. For this print I utilized the negative space and shapes to create a self portrait that resembles my face . One side is solely based on black and the other white. This is a very beautiful contrast to see .

I wanted to experiment with lino printing more , so I used eyes for the prints . Eyes are symbolic in introspection and spirituality so I used that for the design . It is very simple but I think looks very bold. I used the colour red because it draws the viewers attention as well
