My chosen theme for my project is introspection; I will be specifically focusing on my conscience and to view my own self-reflection through spirituality. I aim to produce a body of fine art drawings, painting and mixed media, which will demonstrate my observational skills and my ability to render realism using pencil. I have chosen to study this theme, as I believe it allows me an enormous scope to explore my own individual concerns on the subject of introspection and way to celebrate my won voice. This work will be presented in the end of year show on 21st June 2022. My work will interest people who like fine art, particularly skilful, tonal, detailed drawings expressing complex ideas visually. When I chose this theme, my initial thoughts were how am I going to gather the right research and outcome to rightfully demonstrate my theme. Another thought was the potential struggle of trying to communicate my thoughts through art.

The research that I intend to carry out relating to this theme is the artists exploring surrealism, primary and secondary research that pertain to my theme. And first hand observational drawings will amplify my experiments. In order to produce a successful, creative and unique final piece I intend to research and interpret a variety of artists and movements such as surrealism and two artists that perfectly demonstrate self-refection and spirituality.

For my initial research, I will start by looking into religions that discuss introspection. This varied form Christianity to Buddhism, each religion giving me an insight into the psychology of introspections. I will also extend my knowledge of this theme by presenting in an n successful final outcome. I will research and consider ethical and environmental issues in my ideas and materials, techniques, and processes. I hope to build up an intricate understanding of my chosen theme, which will allow me to successfully project my influences and ideas into my work. I intend to produce and use observational skills to draw a self-portrait in many forms exploring a range of ways that I could communicate my ideas on identify and self. Doing this will hopefully extend my abilities and help strengthen my outcomes. I will research artists Barbara Walker and Lee Haejung. I really admire both these artist observation skills and detail-based work. They also display different viewpoints on emotions. Each of these artists will influence my ideas and help to extend and build upon my knowledge of the theme introspection. I would like to experiment with a wide range of techniques within my work such as tonal pencil and acrylic paint.  I will use these mediums in very different ways. I will then evaluate which has been most successful and which suits the project best so that I can create successful solutions. I will evaluate after every technique so that I can decide which is most successful and refine each piece/ photo/ artwork I make. I will keep an on-going journal or blog and keep my WIX undated
